Winsor-&-Newton-watercolours

Now that I have a little time on my hands, my brain is in overdrive demanding that I make something. I've just bought myself some cute water colours (don't they look like wee lollies?) and am eager to paint or create something with this luscious assortment of silk off-cuts. Hmmm....

What are your creative endeavours today?

a night at the Finders Keepers market and Crafternoon Book giveaway announced

Finders-Keepers-Market-December-2011
The Finders Keepers market in Sydney opened to massive crowds last night, us being two of them (we're 'Yippee'-ing and 'Yay'-ing in the poloroid). We purchased some fabulous goodies as the Sparkling wine and live entertainment set the party atmosphere. It's on again today at the Carriageworks 10am – 5pm, 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh and make your way over to see the lovely Kirsteene at the Etsy booth if you get the chance

Crafternoon Book Giveaway Winner
Congratulations goes to Katejw for winning the two Hardie Grant Crafternoon Books! I'll be in contact today

Magnolia-Square-Sydney-2011

If you live in Sydney, do yourself a favour this weekend and head over to Magnolia Square markets in Paddington Hall. Described as a 'pop up' retail concept showcasing fresh, new products from designers, artists and crafts people. I've just returned home and am thoroughly impressed. My only beef, if you can call it that, is the $5 surcharge for entry and the want to see more stallholders. On the whole, it's beautifully styled and presented

Six in a Row After many attempts to visit Canberra's 'Handmade Markets' we finally made the trip from Sydney and was pleasantly surprised. Beautifully handmade goodies ranging from toys, clothing, jewellery and food that looked more like artwork than a mere sugar fix

I enjoyed talking to stall holders who were so proud of their goods and very passionate about the market. I believe this is not by chance. Founder Julie Nichols carefully curates each craftsperson ensuring each is a perfect fit. And it works!

The Handmade Market is held every quarter with the next market is on Saturday December 4, Kamberra Wine Company on Northbourne Ave, Canberra. Just in time for Christmas shopping!

In future posts, I will be featuring handmade markets with a review and details. My blog will soon be going through a subtle re-vamp and I'll be announcing some exciting new projects coming to fruition soon!
