i'm loving right now: geometrics vs metallic

Geometrics

I can't get enough of geometric patterns at the moment. Add a splash of metallic for extra pizzaz. Having just moved into our new mid-century style home, geometrics are on my mind. I'm in desperate need of some new artwork for our blank walls (and perhaps new shoes and handbag for the wardrobe!),

{go make me} cranberry hot cross buns recipe

Happy Easter! And what's an Easter without an overdose of carbs? Sumptuous chocolate and devilishly devine hot cross buns. To be honest, we bought a six pack of buns at the supermarket and had to throw them away after one bite. Life is too short to waste calories on cardboard. So being a bunless household for Easter, we decided to make some this morning. Y-U-M! Of course they're even better with lashings of butter and the cranberries offer a sweet + sour combination. Recipe after the break

how to temper chocolate and make your own Easter eggs

We are so thrilled to have a special guest in the Go Make Me kitchen! Peter Edmunds, owner and Chocolatier from Lindsay & Edmunds Organic Chocolates, takes us through the steps to temper chocolate. And get this, he shows you how easy it is to make your own Easter eggs! All you need is your favourite chocolate (couverture is best!), a mould, thermometer, stainless steel bowl, spatula and a bit of elbow grease. Peter explains the various types of moulds you can use, including silicon ice moulds that most people would have at home. Of course you can use these professional tips to make chocolates at any time of the year

Go Make Me blog is a top 100 blog in Australia

Kids-Spot-Voices-of-2014-awards-Go-Make-Me

Super excited with the announcement yesterday by Kidspot that Go Make Me is a top 100 blog in Australia! Woohoo. Associated with the announcement were two events; during the day was a blogging Masterclass held at uber cool Megan Morton's Studio and an evening cocktail party was at Luxe studios in Sydney. Needless to say, this morning I'm very a bit seedy and severely suffering from Panda-eye-tis. It's going to be a coffee-in-one-hand and slippers-on-feet day mixed with Quick-Eze and rom-com movies

One of the Masterclass sessions was about Facebook and how massively important it is. I only started my Go Make Me facebook page when I received the nomination email three weeks ago. How sad is that? I've been blogging for six years and no Facebook. I guess I'm VERY shy about promotion but I need to suck it up and get over myself. So, my page is pretty dismal with only 56 likes and in a brazened attempt to make myself look way more popular than I really am, will you like me and give me a thumbs up? It could be just the tonic to ease my throbbing head
