Fun-at-Eumundi-Markets Friends are always ready to listen to your woes or giggle with you over a joke or bad hair days. What better way to spend time with your bff than over a calming cup of chamomile tea for two served from a bunny teapot? Life shouldn't be taken too seriously. And the perfect accompaniment to tea served from a rabbit is, of course, tiny Carrot Cakes with cream cheese icing

My daughter received this teapot for Christmas and many a tea has poured from its spout since. Coming from a bunny household this was the perfect gift

postmodern pistache custom furniture from Thomas Wold

Custom furniture by Thomas Wold out of Berkley are more sculpture than pieces of wood. 'Fractured Fairy Tales' (top) is like stepping through the pages of Alice in Wonderland. Recycling old wares into contemporary (dare I say 'groooovy') furniture is very appealing to me. The colour, shape and construction have a humourous sensibility. I love the kitchen, would suit our new house perfectly, if only.....?

Queensland; raining one day, torrential the next

Our holiday to Queensland was more adventure than holiday. Vactioning near Maroochydoore on the Sunshine Coast, the heavens opened and persisted for days. Not just any old rain, but deafening, torrential rain that never relented. Thunder and lightening electrified the air as the house next door was struck. We cast a weary eye over the flooding when the creek consumed the road and inched up the driveway. The only way in or out was by 4 wheel drive or gumboot

We had it easy. There's thousands of people suffering in Queensland and Eastern Australia who have lost their homes, or worse, their family members due to major flooding or the inland tsnami. As the water levels subside, an army of volunteering angels have set to work in clearing the rubbish as community spirit prevails. If you'd like to contribute to helping the many who have lost so much to the floods, the Queensland Government has set up the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal

We're now back home in Sydney, having skirted the flooded roads and eagre to begin a brand new year
